A Chelsea Kit, Thirteen Signatures, and a Number That Tells a Story

How a group of friends turned a custom jersey into a wedding gift no one else could give — and how we built the frame to match.

Wedding Gift Framed Jersey by Jacquez Art

The finished masterpiece: royal blue suede shadow box, embroidered Chelsea crest, and a nameplate carrying thirteen signatures.

The Inquiry: A Wedding Gift With a Hidden Meaning

The request came in on a Sunday night. Rian and his friends had a groom to celebrate — a die-hard Chelsea FC supporter getting married in the fall. Instead of the usual bachelor gift, they wanted a wedding gift he’d hang on his wall for the rest of his life: a custom Chelsea kit with two details that made it unrepeatable.

The name on the back isn’t a player. JOEMIE is the couple’s blended nickname — his name and his fiancée’s, stitched together the way their friends have been saying it for years. And the number 26 isn’t a squad number. It’s the year they’re getting married.

The best masterpieces we build aren’t about the jersey. They’re about what the jersey means to the people giving it.

The Challenge: Thirteen Signatures, Thirteen Files

The group wanted every friend represented — not printed names, but actual signatures. The catch: the thirteen of them are scattered, so each signature arrived as a separate photo. Different lighting, different paper, different pens.

We extracted each signature individually, cleaned it up, and preserved the character of every stroke — the point of a signature is that it looks like the person who signed it. Then we composed all thirteen around the group’s message on a single nameplate, laser engraved in our studio:

The Nameplate“Always on your team. Always cheering you both on. — Love, The Boys”

Thirteen hand-extracted signatures border the message, so every friend who chipped in is physically part of the masterpiece.

The final nameplate — thirteen signatures, one message, designed and laser engraved in our studio.

Design Decisions

The jersey itself set the palette — but the final call belonged to the client. Every Jacquez Art customer receives a private link to our Color Studio, where they explore mat color schemes against their own jersey and approve the design before we cut a single mat. Rian used his to lock in the scheme himself: a deep royal blue suede mat with red-and-white double accents echoing the sleeve trim, outlining the jersey, both photos, and the nameplate. A silver backdrop behind the jersey lets the blue read as rich instead of heavy. No guesswork, no surprises.

Below the jersey, a Chelsea Football Club crest — embroidered in our studio, not a store-bought patch — anchors the composition. On either side, two photos of the couple, printed in-house and sized precisely for their openings: one dressed up, one candid. Together they turn a sports display into a wedding masterpiece. The jersey sets the stage. The frame tells the story.

Made Entirely In-House

This is a true one-of-one. Everything on this build happened in our studio: the mats cut in-house, the crest embroidered in-house, the photos printed in-house to exact size, the nameplate designed and laser engraved in our studio on our own equipment, and the jersey hand-mounted so it drapes naturally instead of lying flat. No outsourcing, no templates — which is the only way a masterpiece with this many personal details comes together as one composition instead of a collage.

When the groom opens this at the bachelor party, he won’t just see a Chelsea kit. He’ll see his fiancée’s name next to his, his wedding year on his back, and the signature of every friend who made it happen. That’s what separates a framed jersey from a wedding gift they’ll pass down.
